Parents,
Our second grade explorers have advanced into the secondary stages of our literacy unit.
Text Set A will accompany five selected goals for students to reach throughout the course of this unit. The goals, when completed work alongside New York Common Core Curriculum standards below:
1. Expand student's knowledge of other cultures within and outside of America.
2. Student's will be able to support one another and accept each others differences.
3. Be able to relate to other people/cultures and realize that there can be some similarities.
4. Students will be able to openly communicate about their different backgrounds and customs within their own families.
5. Activities to integrate classroom activities.
What's First?
Introduction to Text Set will be through a classroom reading of "Grandfather's Journey".
Guiding Question:
1.How important is it to understand values and practices of different cultures?
